Pre season Friendlies

Roth have an interesting friendly tomorrow at Clifton Lane (ko 2pm) against Oundle from National 2 East.

They put up a really good show in the end of season play offs last season, narrowly losing out to Birmingham Moseley in the final.

Since then they have announced some eye catching signings, and look as though they have a strong connection with Northampton Saints.

In last weeks friendly win v Old Albanians we announced our team the day before but no news yet, so I am guessing we are using the game to give a good number of lads a workout.

Should be an interesting work out.

I definitely think these matches are about game time, combos and ring-rust. Oundle have recruited strongly and have lofty ambitions so I think they will present a much sterner test than OA (who were clattered a few times last season). Roth announced the team on a tricky to ready video backdrop on facebook and it took a while t oappear elsewhere, I haven't seen it yet though.

Bedford play Cambridge this evening in our first pre season game and Cambridge’s second.

Blues have a squad of 25 out with what I believe to be 2 trialists and 1 loanee from Northampton.

I think this is a strong squad. Looking forward to seeing how they get on. It is also intriguing to as to who will play against Newcastle as that should be our toughest fixture, albeit we are one match in a double header that day.
