And now CP are seeing yellows, and Cov go 47-26 up around the hour mark.

Now 52-26 just past the hour.

59-26 on 63 mins.

66-26 on 68 mins.

66-33 on 75 mins.

Cov 73-40 CP
Think you could describe that as a try-fest.

A chastening defeat.
Many congratulations to Worcester

A formidable team. 👏👏👏👏
Sorry RM2 I must have jinxed you by predicting a close game!. In fairness Worcester look very strong this season and not many teams will get anything at Sixways. It’s a good learning experience for the players but you won’t play against that calibre of opponent every week.

Ouch! Tough day for Roth today. It was always going to be tough game facing Worcester away on our second game back in the division. One to forget about for us and we just need to move onto next weeks game and focus on that.

Well done to Worcester who look like an incredible side and will have a very successful season.

Best wishes to all our friends at Roth for the rest of the season.

Same to you Tony and all our friends at Worcester. You have a great team but reading your forum I was pleased to read postings from a number of your supporters that you are very happy to be in the Champ & didn’t seem to be any immediate desire to get to the Prem.

I was just thinking about the likes of Magic P who I knew from years ago and not heard from him for many years.

Wonderful memories. Hopefully we can make a few more, although having said that these last three or four years have been among the most enjoyable with wonderful clubs like Wharfedale Hull Ionians & many in National 1 too.
We are on the way back but there are some great people in our game who tirelessly work to keep the clubs afloat and an example of the bond between our club and its supporters is when we won National 1, that some of those supporters who do sterling work behind the scenes for the love of the club , were also awarded Championship medals. It was a fantastic gesture and highlights the fantastic bond that exists.

Take care my friend.

Ealing 36 (5) - Richmond 19 (0) - Closer gsme than the final score. Ealing was quite sloppy and put the ball on the ground a lot. Francis Moore was imperious, busting through gaps where none existed. Quite a chippy game as well. Richmond finished with 14 men

Turns out my slight pessimism going into this game wasn’t justified. A much improved performance by the Knights this week in most areas, especially defensively. Still a fair few mistakes and lots to work on but a far more encouraging display from a Donny perspective. I’m confident that, at home at least, we can get a few scalps this year. I might be biased but our back 3 is as good as anybody’s in this league.

At Vallis Way yesterday. As a neutral observer said afterwards: "Nobody could have or would have complained if Richmond had won".

The Ealing fans standing next to me (parents and sibling of one of the Ealing players) said the same thing and one added: "It's criminal that you came out of this with nothing."

Although the final margin was 17 points at 36-19, which was as low a winning margin as I can remember since Ealing went fully pro, Ealing only secured their bonus point with the last play of the match. With eight minutes to go, the score was 24-19, Richmond were attacking and with a two man overlap one of our guys (it was the far end from where I was watching, so could not/would not identify the culprit) dropped a pretty straightforward pass with the line probably less than 10 metres away. Could have, should have for Richmond for the second successive week.

But the 'could have' of a draw, win or even a losing bonus point at Vallis Way would have been earth-shattering for the league, I think. Anyway, Richmond will feel they can compete with anyone - and we will find out pretty quickly with Worcester at the Athletic Ground next Saturday.

At least it is not another Sunday fixture. They do no favours to semi-amateur clubs. One of our lads said after the match. "You realise the big difference between us and them [professional players] is that they get the day off tomorrow and we have to limp into work!"

Thanks RM2, always good to get that first W under the belt. I think Donny and Roth are in a similar boat this season - away from home there could be some tough days but at home both teams will be tough to beat and will upset a few of the “big boys” (Roth already have!).
