Hard watch as a pirates fan!

Full Time Bedford (5 tries) 38 Cornish Pirates (2 tries) 14
It’s proving very hard to achieve the try bonus point but Bedford have achieved that so well done to them on their first win of the season. It will be the first of many.
Bedford 5 points Pirates 0.

Schizophrenic season so far from the Pirates; two great home wins and two heavy defeats away. At half time today (watching on Clubber) it looked all to play for but try handed to Bedford on the first play of the second half and it was downhill all the way until Relt’s late solo try.
I’m making the 300 mile trip home next week and will see Chinnor in the flesh at the Mennaye for the first time; hopefully the coaches will have had a few words in the week ahead.

An entertaining game today between Chinnor and Richmond.
Mond had got back to within 4 points with just over 5 minutes remaining but two late tries for Chinnor left them with nothing to take home from a game that would have been 5-1 last season.
Here is a report on the game

Interesting point about the bonus points Fatbear.
In any other year we would have had:
A 5-2 win v Cov instead of 4-1. Six tries to 5
A 5-2 win v Bedford instead of 4-1. Six tries each
A 5-1 win v Caldy instead of 4-1. Six tries to 4.
Everyone is in the same boat I suppose but it is a big ask to get 3 tries clear of the quality of a good number of teams in this league.

Just a few observations from a Nat One supporter here who dips into this thread to follow the fortunes of the two promoted sides last season. Great to see Roth and Club doing well which is no surprise but what on earth did you guys do to Cambridge and Scottish who are having a torrid time in Nat One this season? Many of you will have noted that Plymouth Albion have predictably got off to a great start and look certain to join you as it looks highly likely that they could potentially win every match this season.

Ampthill would have had a point as well last year 4 tries to 8 in their loss to Doncaster.Rothman2 wrote: Sat Oct 10, 2026 9:53 pm Interesting point about the bonus points Fatbear.
