Unbelievable TJ by 4 points
Re: Week 6: Latest Scores - Sat 10 Oct 2026
Stortford's turn to get Tonbridge'd today. Apparently the last few mins were Tonbridge somehow defending their line. How do they do it? Unbelievable stuff.
Sounds like Sale very briefly threatened Plymouth but normal order resumed. They're too good for this league aren't they?
Camborne reminding me of when Rotherham came up a few years ago. They look a serious outfit. Another battering for poor old Cambridge though.
One result that caught me eye was Leeds. I think that were 21-7 down at HT, then raced into the lead. Maybe one end had the wind? Regardless they have impressed me this season.
Have a good evening all!

Just back from watching Mose v Park. Mose were very poor today, line out dreadful, hands awful, kicking poor, tackles missed - apart from that......

Stortford TJs was a terrific game. A difficult crosswind made kicking difficult and Stortford capitalised on some missed touch finders in the first half - I say capitalised but their speed and passing accuracy was excellent. The number 7 is a phenomenal carrier and the no 8 showed a clean pair of heels for one of their tries.
TJs clawed their way back into it, led at HT, and built up a 16 point lead in the 2nd half (in part thanks to an interception). Then Stortford scored a couple more of their expansive tries to leave the difference at 4 points. As mentioned above they pressed hard for the winner but a TJs pen close to the line, then a collapsed Stortford maul saw TJs home.
The points difference differential between the top two teams is hilarious. I fully expect TJs to be on the wrong side of a few of these close games as the season wears on but for the moment they're doing just enough.

Thanks for the summary TJ. It does sound like a cracker.
I just watched the last few mins and Stortford butchered a 2 on 1 a few metres out late on. However, there was still a minute left so no doubt Tonbridge would have just gone up the other end for a winning score anyway!
Congrats on your start, you have to enjoy the good times. Tonbridge have very quickly established themselves as a quality Nat 1 team. Each year that goes by it feels more difficult to stay in this league!

What is going on? Scores internationally off the charts and Northampton 71 Bath 48. Change in tackling laws?
Always look on the bright side of life

Storty, how bad is the injury crisis at the moment as it looks like five Sarries and an Ampthill loanee in this afternoon?
Surprised to see Austin Pope on the bench as he is a very good player!

Morning Badger, I would not describe it as an injury crisis at all. There have been a few injuries but nothing unusual.
The signings this summer were underwhelming on paper and on the rare occasion they've made the pitch. I remember last season in the program the coach bemoaned the difficulty of the transfer market.
In two summers now only one signing has established themselves as a first XV player, and he was a slam dunk signing who was a regular starter at Coventry and apparently played youth rugby at Stortford.
Therefore my theory is Stortford can't compete in the transfer market so have decided to increase the Saracens link. Not the way I'd like things done but the one positive is this season two youth players have established themselves in the first XV.
On Pope, he's a good player and being a local lad always seems well up for the fight. However, his best position is centre and Stortford are usually pretty stacked there.
